Taiwan’s remaining diplomatic allies include the Marshall Islands, Palau, Tuvalu, Eswatini, the Holy See, Belize, Guatemala, Haiti, Paraguay, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent.

Taiwan has been identified as one of the key search terms by international travelers on Airbnb’s platform, according to the company’s 2024 tourism trends report. Taiwan’s search growth rate was second globally, just behind Japan. Airbnb expects 2024 to be the year when international travelers embark on world tours. From the first quarter to the third quarter of 2024, search volume on Airbnb increased significantly in 10 countries and regions, with Japan topping the list. However, THSR advises that Easycard and iPASS are only suitable for small payments, and on-board ticket upgrades should be paid for with a credit card or cash. Furthermore, THSR will be introducing a new hot beverage called ＂Taiwan Sugar Highland Small Farmer Coffee＂ on January 1, 2024. This coffee, made with beans from the Guatemala Antigua region, will be available from the first to the seventh day of each month, while illy coffee will be served on other days. THSR also cautions that unstable internet connections on board may cause credit card transactions to fail and asks for passengers’ understanding.
